Fair questions, straight answers
Everything owners ask us — answered plainly. If yours isn't here, email us and a human replies.
The product
How does DentalSpray actually work? +
Two pumps go into the water bowl — that's the whole routine. As your dog drinks, cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC), the proven dental active, disrupts the bacteria behind plaque and bad breath on contact, while zinc neutralizes the sulfur compounds that actually make breath stink. Every sip does quiet work, all day, with zero cooperation needed.
Wait — do I spray it into my dog's mouth? +
No. Nothing goes near the mouth — the pump goes into the water bowl. If your dog allowed hands near their mouth, you probably wouldn't be reading this. The name refers to the measured pump; the routine is dental water.
Will my dog even drink it? +
Almost always — no taste, no smell, no mint. There are no flavors, no enzymes and no botanicals in the water for a nose 40× sharper than yours to find, so most dogs never notice it and drink like normal.
And if yours won't? Full refund, keep the bottle. That's the Dog-Drinks-It guarantee.
Is it safe for small and senior dogs? +
That's exactly who we built it for — no procedure, no anesthesia, nothing to chew, chip a tooth on, or swallow whole. The dose is set by the water volume, not the dog, so a Yorkie on a small bowl never gets a big dog's dose.
My dog has a sensitive stomach. +
Same here — it shaped the formula. A short, readable list with no seaweed or iodine, no xylitol, no alcohol, no chlorhexidine and no harsh essential oils — the usual suspects behind upset tummies and refused bowls. It works diluted across the whole bowl, never as a concentrated daily glob, and week one eases in gradually.
On medication or managing a condition? Show your vet the label — it's short.
What exactly is in it? +
About five clean ingredients: CPC (the proven active), zinc (the breath neutralizer), a citrate buffer (gentle pH stabilizer), a touch of glycerin (food-derived, for a smooth pour) and a purified water base with a gentle preservative. The measured dose is printed right on the label — no "proprietary blend" guessing.
When will I actually notice something? +
Honestly: give the breath 2–4 weeks of daily use before judging — that's how long it takes the bacterial load to shift. Cleaner-looking teeth come slower, over weeks 4–8, as less new plaque settles in and hardens. Nothing about this is overnight, and we won't pretend otherwise.
Will it remove tartar my dog already has? +
No — and we won't pretend otherwise. It helps freshen breath and slow new buildup. For hard existing tartar: one professional cleaning, then DentalSpray daily to help keep it from returning.
Can my cat share the bowl? +
Not yet. This formula is dosed and validated for dogs, and cats are a genuinely different animal — more sensitive, differently dosed. Give kitty a separate, untreated bowl for now. A feline-calibrated version is in the works.
Daily use
How do I use it? +
Add two pumps to a bowl of fresh water, once a day. Refresh the water like you already do, and pump again after refills. That's the entire manual — no brushing, no wrestling.
What's the 7-day ease-in? +
You don't switch overnight. Start at a fraction of the dose and step up across the first week — so a suspicious drinker and a sensitive system both get time to adjust. The schedule is on the leaflet in the box.
We have several dogs sharing bowls. +
Perfect setup. Dose the bowl and everyone who drinks from it is covered. One bottle covers one dog for about a month — tell us how many dogs at checkout and we send one bottle per dog, with a bigger discount the more you add.
We use a water fountain — does that matter? +
One detail nobody flags: charcoal / activated-carbon filters strip the active out. Mesh filters are fine — just skip the charcoal cartridge, and refresh the water daily.
How long does a bottle last? +
About a month of daily use for one dog. The amber bottle is semi-transparent on purpose — you can see the level, so you're never caught empty. On a subscription, the next bottle ships before this one runs dry.
Shipping & tracking
How much is shipping? +
Every subscription ships free — monthly and every-3-months alike. One-time orders add a flat $3.95, and any order over $50 ships free too, US and international. No surprise jumps at checkout.
How long until it arrives? +
Orders are processed within 1–2 business days, and typical delivery is 7–12 business days in the US and 8–15 business days internationally, depending on your local carrier. The full details live in our shipping policy.
How do I track my order? +
You'll get a dispatch email with your tracking number as soon as your order ships. Paste it into our Track Your Order page any time. Heads-up: tracking numbers can take 2–3 days after dispatch to show their first scan — that's the courier network catching up, not your package going missing.
Can I change or cancel my order? +
If you catch us within 12 hours of ordering, almost certainly — email us with your order number and the change. Once an order is dispatched we can't redirect it, but the guarantee still has you covered either way.
Do you ship to my country? +
We ship US-wide and to most countries internationally. The simplest check: add to cart and enter your address — if checkout accepts it, we deliver there. International orders may be subject to local customs fees, which are the buyer's responsibility.
Subscription
Why do most owners subscribe? +
Honest reasons — biology and small-batch logistics, not a sales trick. A dog's mouth never stops: plaque rebuilds every day, so the routine can't be allowed to run out. We make DentalSpray in small batches, and subscribing reserves your bottle from every run. And a fresh bottle each month stays at full strength — while costing less than buying one-off.
Can I really cancel anytime? +
Yes. You get a reminder 3 days before each refill ships, and you can pause, skip or cancel in one click — from that email or your account. No lock-in, no minimum, no retention phone call. Ever.
How does the every-3-months plan work? +
You're billed once every 3 months at the best per-bottle price, but a fresh bottle still ships each month — always potent, never a warehouse stockpile. Free shipping included.
Can I move my delivery date? +
Yes — skip a month or shift the date from your account, or just reply to the reminder email and we'll do it for you.
Guarantee & refunds
How does the guarantee work? +
Two promises, in writing. Dog Drinks It, or your money back: if your dog won't drink it, you get a full refund — and you keep the bottle. Plus 60 days: not thrilled for any reason within 60 days of delivery? Full refund, no questions asked.
We can only afford the first promise because the formula is truly undetectable. That's rather the point.
How do I claim a refund? +
Email us with your order number and one line about what happened. A human reads it, and the refund goes back to your original payment method. Nothing to package up, nothing to post.
Do I need to return the bottle? +
No. Keep it, finish it, or pass it to a friend's less opinionated dog. Shipping a mostly-full bottle back helps nobody.
Is DentalSpray sold on Amazon or eBay? +
No — it's only available here. That's how we keep every bottle fresh from the current batch, and how both guarantees stay attached to your order.
Start the routine that runs itself — with tonight's bowl.
Two pumps in the water. No brushing, no anesthesia — and two guarantees behind it.
